Esther is an attorney based in São Paulo, specialized in Corporate and Labor Law, advising large corporate clients on judicial and administrative litigation, advisory and regulatory matters, compliance, and dispute prevention.
She graduated from the University of São Paulo Law School in 2015. Early in her career, she gained broad exposure to complex proceedings and hands-on experience with in-house legal operations — a foundation on which she has built a practice that combines labor and employment litigation with corporate advisory work, including the drafting of legal opinions and contracts, case law research, the structuring of preventive strategies tailored to each client, and the coordination of specialized legal teams.
On the litigation side, Esther has acted in individual and collective labor claims, class actions and public civil actions filed by the Public Labor Prosecutor’s Office (MPT), collective bargaining disputes (dissídios coletivos), and enforcement and judgment execution proceedings. Her advisory and preventive practice covers the drafting and review of employment contracts, as well as the structuring of atypical employment arrangements, including outsourcing (terceirização) and independent contracting (pejotização).
A particularly relevant portion of her practice concerns compliance and internal investigations. Esther accompanied the design and implementation of labor compliance programs and whistleblower/ethics hotline channels at large corporations, and has since successfully replicated that framework with other corporate clients, tailoring each rollout to the client’s industry, governance structure, and organizational culture. She has also conducted and accompanied internal investigations into moral harassment, sexual harassment, racism, and homophobia, working closely with clients on the design and adoption of remediation measures, the formulation of formal responses to complainants and internal stakeholders, and the drafting of internal policies aimed at adapting workplace environments and corporate culture to current legal standards and best practices. Her compliance practice further includes labor due diligence in M&A transactions.
Esther also has experience in union and collective labor relations, including the negotiation, on behalf of employers, of Collective Labor Agreements (ACTs) and Collective Bargaining Agreements (CCTs) alongside labor unions, as well as advisory in bargaining tables and matters involving strikes and work stoppages. On the administrative and regulatory front, she has acted in defense proceedings arising from assessments by the Ministry of Labor and the Federal Revenue Service, administrative proceedings before the Regional Labor Superintendence (SRTE) and the Public Labor Prosecutor’s Office (MPT), as well as in matters related to occupational health and safety (NRs) and workplace accidents.
Esther lived in Italy for four years, between the cities of Rome and Fiesole, a period that combined academic engagement with direct immersion in the Italian legal and institutional environment. During that time, she participated in the seminar L’autonomia privata nella contemporaneità and was invited to pursue a PhD in Labor and Social Security Law (Diritto del Lavoro e della Previdenza Sociale) at Sapienza Università di Roma (Roma 1), an invitation she ultimately declined for personal reasons that led to her return to Brazil.
She is fluent in Portuguese, English, and Italian.
