Dr Isabela Carvalho, a licensed attorney in Brazil, works in the areas of compliance, governance, risk management, internal audit and internal controls. She has nearly two decades of experience supporting organizations in highly regulated environments and complex regulatory scenarios.

Her professional background combines extensive legal expertise, with experience in corporate compliance programs, governance frameworks, internal audit, risk management, contract governance, data privacy, and corporate internal investigations. Throughout her career, she has supported organizations in highly regulated industries, including mining, healthcare, and professional services, leading initiatives related to ethics and compliance, anti-corruption programs, internal audit activities, risk assessments, whistleblower programs, policy development, internal controls, regulatory compliance, and legal risk mitigation.

Most recently, Isabela worked as a Compliance Specialist in the mining sector, where she played a key role in strengthening compliance and governance frameworks, supporting ISO 37001 and ISO 37301 certification initiatives, conducting compliance risk assessments, supporting and coordinating corporate investigations, overseeing whistleblower processes, developing executive reports and performance indicators, and delivering training programs focused on ethics, anti-corruption, and data protection.

Prior to her work in the mining industry, she held advisory and specialist positions in the healthcare sector, including acting as Legal Manager and Data Protection Officer (DPO), where she led initiatives related to legal, regulatory, privacy, and risk management matters. She also worked as a consultant supporting organizations in the implementation of data protection and privacy governance programs.

Drawing on her multidisciplinary background in law, compliance, internal audit, governance, and investigations, Isabela helps organizations strengthen integrity programs, assess and mitigate risks, enhance control environments, navigate complex regulatory frameworks, and improve organizational resilience.
